I watched YouTube video JW_siMWqnr4 and tried to do wha the guy did with an older version of GIMP (GIMP 2.10.8 maybe), but when I mapped the palette it made the colors look like crap. There was nothing I could do to fix it, and I tried to do what the guy in the video did to fix it: didn't help. After mapping the palette (of six colors) the photo only used 6 colors, and even when I changed the modes of a thing like the person in the video did I couldn't get the photo back to using the hundreds of colors that photos normally have but with the palette as a filter/map for said 100s of colors. Therefore, I got a newer version of GIMP, for GIMP 2.10.22 or 2.10.20 or something greater than 2.10.8 was shown in video JW_siMWqnr4. Hopefully GIMP installed from gimp-2.10.22-setup.exe will work better.
