With this release, Power of the Blues, Mr. Moore is fully immersed in the blues. He sounds like a very sad man being overwhelmed by life. His guitar is almost crying. If you love the blues and you like Gary Moore this is the compact disc to get. There are some giants of the blues guitar but sadly most of them are dead, as is Gary Moore.
11/2/2017 I can tell by some of the reviews below that I am in the minority in my obvious appreciation of this gut wrenching blues album. So, I guess one should listen before you buy. A couple fingers of a good whiskey on the rocks might help a little.

Many cite Moore's earliest return-to-the-roots albums as being his best - but as a modern blues album you won't get LOUDER than this one - not as sparse as the more appealing modern bluesjesus Seasick Steve - but seething with spirit that only the ugliest man in rock (trademark) could conjure.
