| i think America is still a great country. i do think that the forefathers of this nation would be horrifed with the current state of affairs. so many fail-safes set into the constitution have been bypassed under the pretense of "national security." |

| as was my father.. he went in at 18. There was also a mandatory draft in the 60's and early 70's.. hence, the anti-war movement |
| One minor point: the 20 year olds in 1944 were drafted, they had no choice. My Grandfather was one of them. |
