In my state, we have no tax on unprepared food purchases. I think that's the way to go. Also, the Fair Tax Act has a table where the people below poverty level get rebates
The issue with a high sales tax is it kills your economy. People are more inclined to buy there goods else ware, I suppose tariffs and import taxes may help but they also are detrimental to economy. Still not the worst plan so long as no tax on food
made it out of committee.
The only tax that would be fair would be a consumption tax (also known as a fair tax). You buy a yacht, you pay 23% of the cost in tax. You buy a lightbulb, you pay 23% of the cost in tax. The Fair Tax was introduced to congress in 1999, but has never
opf course that f's over a good deal of people termed SUV poor, people who at one time made them selves middle class, but lost their good job due to the poor economy and still have their house and car but are flipping burgers now to feed their family
The problem is the way they tax int he 1st place, by taking a % of what I earned in the year I am far less inclined to work hard, they should tax people on what they already have, not what they are trying to get.
So do you think that a Corporate Exec should only be able to keep the same amount as a burger flipper at Micky Dee's?
because 1% of our country controls 90% of the currancy. 35% for me, leaves me with hundreds. where as 35% for a rich man, still leaves him with MILLIONS. I also want to point out, taxing is only half of the problem, government spending is the other half.
If everyone is paying the same percentage, how does that favor the rich?
favors the rich. puts a higher burden on the middle and lower class while keeping the rich folks, rich.
