So only (probably IA mods or admins and) the uploader of https://archive.org/details/img-2295 could see the history of IA item img-2295 at https://catalogd.archive.org/history/img-2295 or <a href="https://archive.org/history/img-2295" rel="nofollow">https://archive.org/history/img-2295</a>. I am almost certain that I noticed this in Oct 2020 as I made a mental note to remember that month of that year. I think it was early October 2020 when I noticed said changed. In 2020-10 I know that said users could not see said history, and in 2020-09 I think but am not entirely sure that said users could still see said history. In 2020-08 I guess those users could still see that history, but that info is less known to me. In 2020-07, and before, logged-in archive.org users could certainly see the history of items that they did not upload (see below). Users who were not logged in to archive.org (or had no archive.org account at archive.org/details/@[user_name]) were never able to see the history of any items at https://catalogd.archive.org/history/[IDs] or https://archive.org/history/[IDs] I guess. Logged-in archive.org users were always able to see the history of items that they uploaded at https://catalogd.archive.org/history/[ID] or https://archive.org/history/[ID] I guess. Why was this history-viewing change made? Maybe because the uploader's email address might have still been viewable in the history, but in that case, why not just hide the email to most users? Maybe it was to hide the deletion reasons, so as not to set an unwritten rule. Maybe it was to hide dumb deletion reasons. Maybe it was to hide any possibly unwanted leak of info from the deleted item. Maybe it was due to some other reason(s) which might have been dumb reason(s). This censorship has gone too far I reckon, for if need be it would be better to hide some things in the history (and not all things) from most users; "most users" means any user who did not upload the item. Being able to see the history of items that one did not upload would be useful for public info on the history of those items. For example, a user could share the "addeddate" (added date) and deletion date of any deleted Internet Archive item with everyone. Due to the aforewritten reasons, I know neither exactly when Internet Archive item prettypeaches1978 (at archive.org/details/prettypeaches1978) was added nor exactly when it was deleted. Lower limit of the add date of Internet Archive item prettypeaches1978 (no speedy deletion): about 2010 or 2000. Lower limit of the add date of IA item prettypeaches1978 (with speedy deletion which I guess was more likely): about 2020, 2019, or 2018. Factual upper limit of the deletion date of prettypeaches1978: 2021-08-06 02:11:07 GMT. Upper limit of its deletion date (with speedy deletion): 2020 or early 2021. Why was item prettypeaches1978 deleted? (1) Pretty Peaches is a 1978 American porn comedy film, so it was deleted due to porn. (2) The copyright on Pretty Peaches has not yet expired or something, so it was deleted due to rights reasons. Reason (2) is almost as dumb as reason (2); both are dumb I guess, but reason (2) makes a bit more sense. I remember that the video of prettypeaches1978 was really desynced, so reason (2) makes way less sense when you consider the syncing problem. Maybe it was deleted due to (3) the audio-video sync was bad, so the uploader deleted it until he could fix the problem.
