"Rin?" His calling goes unanswered. Rin stares into the depths of her unfinished painting, burning into the canvas with her gaze. Her expression is difficult to describe as anything other than 'Elusive'. The painting is difficult to make out unless looked at close up. A bunch of random segments covering each-other, each with abstract designs of house-hold objects and various miscellaneous items. It has no reason or rhyme, it might as well be static on a television screen. Hisao wonders how it could be so difficult to paint something so random and senseless. "It looks nice." ... She breaks out of her trance, she finally turns around to face Hisao. Ironically, her eyes are bloodshot, as if she actually was staring at a television screen. "Fortuna would be displeased with your actions." "What?" Rin's face scrunches up, frustrated with Hisao's ineptitude. "I, uh, I got you something" Hisao pulls a long, thin box from behind his back, prying off the lid before laying it down in-front of Rin's feet. Inside is a long, thin, wooden object with a series of intricate holes punctured into it in a line. "I don't know if that kind of thing interests you... but.." Rin stares at the object, giving no hints at her disposition at the situation. "I thought... you might like... this sort of thing.." Rin jabs at the instrument, picking it up between her toes, as if she were picking up rice with chop-sticks, lifting it up to her mouth. He's seen it a million times before, but the flexibility in her legs still manages to amaze Hisao. She begins a simple tune, blowing into the device and dancing her toes over it's many holes. Hisao's jaw drops, dumbfounded by her ability to play. It's choppy and out of sync, but it's amazing she's able to play anything at all. "I didn't know you knew how to play, Rin." "I used to play." "Why did you stop?" She averts her focus away from the flute, staring up at Hisao. Her eyes are as deep as a ravine. He couldn't properly describe it, but they bleed a look of longing and frustration. A message that would be difficult to express in any formation of words. It scares Hisao. However, she's content with her answer. She looks back to the flute, resuming her tune. *** Hisao's eyes creep open, letting the light of day burn into him. As the haze lifts from his vision, he lifts himself up, taking in his surroundings. His alarm clock didn't go off, reminding him that it's sunday, and that he's free for today. He looks over at Rin's designated painting area, taking another look at her painting. It doesn't look finished, but it looks different now, but it's difficult to describe; it looks brighter, and full of colors that weren't there before. Less like white-noise. Taking it as a sign, it brings a smile to Hisao's face. Finally, he notices a familiar sound. A muffled tune is coming from the kitchen, reminding him of Rin's presence. He slumps out of bed, getting ready to greet her. He finds her in a zen, almost dream-like state. Despite the bags under her eyes, she looks relaxed and peaceful. She isn't wearing any clothes for some reason, and her hair is a unkempt and messy. "Did you play all night?" Hisao pulls back Rin's tangled hair, taking her hair out of her pony-tail, barely held together by a hair-band loosely hanging at the end of her mane. He collects all of her hair in one piece, pulling it through the hair-band once again, leaving her face clear of any strands. ... "I'm not sure. I don't remember not sleeping." Hisao chuckles at her remark, sitting down across from her, leaning against a cabinet. "When I got that flute, I didn't think you'd like it that much." "Do you ever remember things you don't remember remembering?" A confused, almost worried look crosses Hisao's face. "Not... really. Did the flute remind you of something?" "I thought I was good at forgetting things, but the flute reminded me of things I forgot I remembered, so I didn't really forget them. I wish I didn't remember them." Hisao, still confused, runs his hand through his hair. A pang of guilt bites into his chest. "I... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to.. remind you of something you didn't want to think about." ... "Do you want to talk about it?" Rin interrupts her tune again, shaking her head at Hisao. "Later. I'm not done remembering."
