The salsa in the jar which was considered to be overly fermented/spoiled got that way presumably because it was (1) improperly sealed with its lid, (2) a mistake was made in the food processing process, (3) the coronavirus shifted the logistics of grocery stores so they overbought jars of salsa which got old, (4) the salsa was unrefrigerated in the trucks transporting the salsa to the stores for too long (maybe the refrigerating component of the truck broke for a while), (5) the shop storing the salsa stored them in an unrefrigerated environment for too long, (6) the food transportation trucks ran out of power when transporting the food due to a traffic jam from all the trucks moving food to grocery stores hahaha, or, and this is unlikely, (7) some alcohol was dropped in the salsa. (3) seems unlikely because the expiration date on this jar of salsa was a date in 2021, and (7) seems wrong because alcohol is the result of fermentation; alcohol cannot ferment something, only yeast cultures (and maybe also some other thing) can ferment food. With (1) the yeast got in either from the air into the jar or from yeast or something being an ingredient in the salsa.

In this video a jar contains salsa, liquid, and gas, and the gas built up in the jar and the pressure was released quickly via the lid being opened by hand. This quick release of pressure resulted in vapor. This same phenomenon with vapor is seen when a thin plastic bottle which contains a small amount of water (so little that it is considered to be "empty") has its lid tightly on, is twisted a lot so a "knot" is formed in the vertical middle of the bottle, the bottle is held in the twisted state so that the gas within is pressurized, then the lid is quickly twisted off with the hand/fingers of the arm not holding the bottle in the twisted position. I saw this done with bottles multiple times throughout one or more high schools. A video of this phenomenon with a bottle might be seen at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSku1_jsiq8 (found after searching "plastic bottle pressure build up and release", titled "Water Bottle Pressure Smoke Experiment (how to make water vapor with a water bottle)", I didn't watch the video, I just saw the title and thumbnail); I guess that the rapid release of gas out of the bottle shakes up or vibrates the water molecules so much that they turn into a visible gas. I saw vapor come out of this glass jar in a day before I recorded the aforewritten videos, but I didn't expect it to happen and was to in awe or something to grab a camera. Even though it did taste bad, though it was a bit of an acquired taste to me, I ate all of the salsa in the jar which was full when it was discovered to taste bad. If I don't have any future uploads then blame my death on the salsa, haha.

Original metadata of "IMG_0991.MOV":
major_brand : qt
minor_version : 0
compatible_brands: qt
creation_time : 2020-05-31T14:35:42.000000Z
com.apple.quicktime.location.ISO6709: [redacted]
com.apple.quicktime.make: Apple
com.apple.quicktime.model: iPhone 6s
com.apple.quicktime.software: 13.5
com.apple.quicktime.creationdate: 2020-05-31T08:35:42-0600

Original metadata of "IMG_0992.MOV":
major_brand : qt
minor_version : 0
compatible_brands: qt
creation_time : 2020-05-31T14:36:24.000000Z
[redacted]
com.apple.quicktime.make: Apple
com.apple.quicktime.model: iPhone 6s
com.apple.quicktime.software: 13.5
com.apple.quicktime.creationdate: 2020-05-31T08:36:24-0600
Duration: 00:00:52.64, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 15463 kb/s

Original metadata of "IMG_0993.MOV":
major_brand : qt
minor_version : 0
compatible_brands: qt
creation_time : 2020-05-31T14:37:18.000000Z
[redacted]
com.apple.quicktime.make: Apple
com.apple.quicktime.model: iPhone 6s
com.apple.quicktime.software: 13.5
com.apple.quicktime.creationdate: 2020-05-31T08:37:18-0600
Duration: 00:02:38.02, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 15451 kb/s

Thanks/info:
* "-metadata:" part from https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44351606/ffmpeg-set-the-language-of-an-audio-stream/44351749 - vote up the answer (done [ ])
* "-map 0 -map_metadata -1" part from https://technowikis.com/2146/how-to-delete-metadata-with-ffmpeg-or-exiftool
* It seems like the following is currently impossible/impractical to do with FFmpeg: "remove a line of metadata with ffmpeg".

"G:\Software\ffmpeg-20190610-b124327-win32-static\bin\ffmpeg" -i IMG_0991.MOV -metadata:s:a:1 language=eng -metadata:s:v:0 language=eng -map 0 -map_metadata -1 -c copy IMG_0991-meta-edit.MOV -y
[...]
Output #0, mov, to 'IMG_0991-meta-edit.MOV':
  Metadata:
    encoder : Lavf58.27.103
    Stream #0:0(eng): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuv420p(tv, bt709), 1920x1080, q=2-31, 15479 kb/s, 29.98 fps, 29.97 tbr, 19200 tbn, 600 tbc (default)
    Stream #0:1(eng): Audio: aac (LC) (mp4a / 0x6134706D), 44100 Hz, mono, fltp, 93 kb/s (default)
    Stream #0:2: Data: none (mebx / 0x7862656D), 0 kb/s (default)
    Stream #0:3: Data: none (mebx / 0x7862656D), 0 kb/s (default)
Stream mapping:
Stream #0:0 -> Upon opening, the salsa started bubbling and overflowed over the jar. Not only did it keep bubbling but it tasted pretty bad. It was an "award winning" salsa so I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to taste how it did. Any ideas on what's wrong with it? Thanks in return. \ [...] \ Mercy Lv 6 \ 9 years ago \ When I was learning how to can & preserve foods, I was taught that anything made with tomatoes is acidic and that food poisoning like botulism would not grow in an acidic medium, but that any fruit, tomatoes included, can ferment. The bubbling you describe sounds like fermentation, and probably means that the product you purchased was not properly sealed, some yeast spores got in and the thing fermented. One of the major reasons people who can will put by tomato preparations or fruit like peaches or pears is that the worst that can happen if you don't get a good seal is fermentation or possibly some mold due to the acidic environment. This is relatively harmless. With non-acidic foods like green beans or with meats, you can get botulism, which is deadly. \\ Your bubbling salsa is probably not very tasty and you wouldn't want to eat it. But the little bit you did eat to test it won't hurt you. Just call the manufacturer and let them know the lot number if available, and where you bought it. They'll give you your money back and probably some coupons besides. Chalk it up to experience.”

Properties of "IMG_0991.MOV":
Filesize in megabytes: 74.7 MB

Date modified: 2020

Date created: 2020

Properties of "IMG_0992.MOV":
Filesize in megabytes: 97.0 MB

Date modified: 2020

Date created: 2020

Properties of "IMG_0993.MOV":
Filesize in megabytes: 291 MB

Date modified: 2020

Date created: 2020
